{"id":652,"date":"2019-01-15T02:14:07","date_gmt":"2019-01-15T02:14:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.brianrabbott.com\/blog\/?p=652"},"modified":"2019-01-23T19:38:08","modified_gmt":"2019-01-23T19:38:08","slug":"bread-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.brianrabbott.com\/blog\/bread-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Bread: 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Keeping myself honest.&nbsp; 2019 resolution: learn to bake bread.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Jan. 12: Ciabatta<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Found an easy <a href=\"http:\/\/paulhollywood.com\/recipes\/ciabatta\/\">recipe<\/a> to start.&nbsp; Had to put it back in a little bit to crisp it up, but turned out great.&nbsp; Also, I had a lot of fun watching it rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h3>Jan. 14: Dutch Oven Loaf<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Gave another relatively easy (read: no kneading), but longer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artofmanliness.com\/articles\/bread-baking-101-beginners\/\">recipe<\/a> a try.\u00a0 My loaf turned out alright, I think it wasn&#8217;t baked long enough, and it fell a little when I took it out.\u00a0 I&#8217;m going to get an oven thermometer to see how accurate the dial is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bread was good, but I think could be better.  It looked pretty at least!  I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ll try a dutch oven recipe again for a while, as I want to work on other skills, like kneading first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul public library.
